Overview
This on-line course is designed to give successful graduates a thorough understanding of dog behaviour concepts and skills, as well as qualify and certify you as a Natural Dog Behaviour Consultant, (NDBC). This is a stringent and thorough course that will challenge and reward the participants, as well as allow them to pursue an exciting career as a dog behaviour consultant.

This course is also for interested dog owners and dog enthusiasts who wish to broaden their knowledge of dog behaviour, and learn valuable cynopraxic behaviour skills.

 
Career in Dog Training

As an on-line program, it allows candidates to move at their own pace, as well as have direct contact with the course instructor through our easy to use on-line learning software. This is one of the only courses of its kind available, and will prepare you for the exciting field of dog behaviour consulting.

Upon graduation you will be qualified in the following areas:

  • understand basic and advanced concepts of applied dog behaviour
  • be familiar with and understand the etiology of dog fears, phobias and problems
  • understand Canine Domestic Aggression, (CDA) and management therapies
  • understand anxiety, hyperactivity, appetitive and elimination problems in dogs
  • understanding canine body language, dominance and submissive behaviours
  • understand Cynopraxic behaviour counseling and application of therapies
  • perform dog behaviour descriptive and functional assessments
  • how to define and isolate dog behaviour problems

Pre-Requisite
Candidates are required to be experienced dog owners and/or handlers in order to receive certification in this course. This is a dog behaviourist course dealing with dog behaviour theory, and case studies and offers no 'hands-on' practicum. It is assumed that candidates will use their prior knowledge, understanding and experience with dogs and apply the skills, therapies and techniques learned on this course.

Prospective candidates will be able to register for the course using Paypal, or any credit card, through our course software.

Qualification and Certification
Successful graduates of this course will receive certification as a Natural Dog behaviour Consultant, and be eligible to use the designation NDBC, as well as have use of our NDBC logo for professional purposes. All graduates will receive a graduation diploma as well as a NDBC ID card.

In order to retain and maintain their certification, graduates will be required to pay a yearly professional membership fee. Successful graduates may also be eligible for membership in various professional organizations like:

Association of Animal Behaviour Professionals
Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers
Association of Pet Dog Trainers

 

Assessment and Final Exam
Each lesson module can be completed at your own pace. Upon completion of each lesson, a score of 75% must be attained on that lesson quiz in order to access next lesson.

You will be required to create a case study on a test subject dog and write a functional assessment of issues. This, along with a 2 hour on-line exam will comprise the final exam. A minimum mark of 75% is required in order to graduate.

 

Course Materials
All lessons will be given in an on-line format. There will be reference texts will be available for purchase in either hardcopy format, or in downloadable pdf.

 

Method of Delivery
This is an on-line course utilizing an easy to use learning course software. This course is currently on-line and available for registration here.

 

Tuition
This course can be taken as a complete course, or by module. There are four modules making up the total course package, with a pass in each module counting as credit towards your NDBC designation.
